In 1991, at the age of 15, he joined the Carlson Gracie Academy with Carlson Gracie Jr. and Marcelo Alonso as his masters. In 1999 he graduated with a brown belt. From ’97 to ’99 he owned an academy called Leme Jiu-Jitsu, where he taught under Carlson Gracie Jr.
In 1999, Pedro Vianna moved to Chicago and became the main instructor at the Carlson Gracie Jr. School. Then in the same year he practiced MMA for the first time.
In 2000, he graduated with a black belt under Carlson Gracie Jr. and Marcelo Alonso. In the following year, he returned to Brazil and joined the Brazilian Top Team where he taught until June 2004.
In 2019, Pedro lost his life during an accident. His memory is instilled into each student he worked with. His passion and drive can still be felt on the mats each and everyday of training.
